The Executive Committee makes management and policy decisions within DCA.
Our Grower Committee provides a way for chicken growers to connect, sharing best practices on their farms and learning about cost-share opportunities. The committee also organizes workshops for growers, in coordination with extension offices on Delmarva.
DCA's Environmental Committee meets periodically to take stock of environmental issues affecting the chicken industry, including matters involving the Chesapeake Bay, other waterways, and regulatory decisions affecting us.
The Poultry Health Committee's primary job is planning the annual National Meeting on Poultry Health, Processing, and Live Production in Ocean City, Maryland. It also serves as the vehicle to prepare for and respond to chicken health issues.
DCA's Government Affairs Committee discusses how the organization should tackle legislative affairs in Richmond, Dover, Annapolis and Washington, D.C.
"The way I view the Delmarva Chicken Association is that they are able to be there when the farmer or the integrator isn't. They are able to go to Annapolis, to local communities and to local municipalities and be an advocate on behalf of the poultry industry for everyone."
